Youth find new voice in art (Zimbabwe)

"My art work and pictures are a testimony of what I feel about HIV and Aids."

22 youth in Zimbabwe have been involved in a new arts-based programme:

"The programme provided the youth from Mutasa with paper, pen, brushes and disposable cameras to shoot images, to portray the shifting perspectives of HIV and AIDS in their rural communities.

John Muchirahondo (18) told Standardplus that since they began drawing and taking pictures they had painted posters on HIV and Aids for schools, clinics and community centres in Mutasa. Some of his art work and pictures are on display at the US Embassy's Public Affairs Section for public viewing until the beginning of January 2010."
